The primary aim of these conducted walks is to introduce the traveller to the great diversity of wild flowers that grow upon the Katharo plain, many endemic to Crete and the Dikti mountains and to learn a little more about the plain itself its wildlife and the important fossil finds that were made there.
Walks take place from the beginning of March until the end of November. Please telephone or E-Mail for more information or to make a booking. Participants will make their own way to Katharo to meet up at 10 am at the taverna "O Zervas" (see “Getting There” for directions).
The walk will take about 3 hours, allowing plenty of time for photography and discussion, and will terminate back at the taverna “O Zervas”. Here a meal may be purchased. After the meal there will be time for questions and answers. The total time involved including the meal will be about 4 - 41/2 hours.
